What I hope to accomplish in the next 10 years

Ten years ago (2007) I was being diagnosed with aplastic anaemia and I didn’t even know if I would be here (2017) in ten years time. Well, faced with a different ‘problem’ (or a ‘hiccup’), I am wondering what I will accomplish in the next 10 years.

I found a list that I made in 2009 (eight years ago). Of it, I have done the following:

  1. Return to work
  2. Go to Florida/Disney
  3. See the Northern Lights
  4. Do a degree (started but not complete)
  5. Go on a steam train and have dinner on it with Grandad (Grandad and I made many plans that haven’t come to live yet. This was the best one I wanted to do…)
  6. Write and publish a book
  7. Maybe be a mum (I was undecided, then I didn’t want to and now I can’t)
  8. Learn to play chess so I can play with Rick
  9. Get my driving licence
  10. Quit smoking (I have!)

Now, on my list, of what I want to accomplish in the next 10 years:

  1. Become self-employed/my own boss
  2. Return to Iceland
  3. Go to Venice
  4. Get stairs to my attic
  5. Decorate my home – I don’t want a job-half-done like the beach hut was…
  6. Write and publish more books
  7. Take a photography course/join a club
  8. Learn to use a sewing machine
  9. Go to Harry Potter world
  10. Visit Darrowby (where they made All Creatures Great and Small)

I think it’s a rather doable list. It’s also much the same as the list in the back of my 2009 journal: it involves a vision relating to work, travel and self-improvement. I’m sure I’ll be able to accomplish all of this.
